About Us

Joe Egan Solicitors was established in 1986. The firm has grown, year on year, and now has distinct departments with expert solicitors in each department. It is now well respected in Bolton and has 2 offices in the centre of town offering a range of legal services including criminal, children, divorce, litigation and wills and probate.

The firm’s founder and managing partner Joe Egan was born and bred in Bolton, he attended St. Peter and Paul’s Primary School and Thornleigh Salesian College before studying at Kent University. He then spent many years travelling the world gaining valuable life experience before returning to Bolton and entering the law.

Having worked for a number of firms Joe felt he would be able to offer a better service to clients with 24 hour access by telephone from the begining and later opening its doors at weekends. The firm has always gone out of its way to be accessible to clients by arranging appointments out of office hours and making home visits when necessary.

Many of our clients are eligible for legal aid and we do everything we can to assist them in obtaining legal aid funding where they are eligible and it is available. For our privately paying clients we constantly strive to provide exemplary service for reasonable prices, we offer no win no fee on accident claims and often on litigation cases as well so that you don’t have to worry about a huge bill on top of your other troubles. We also offer a free initial 30-minute interview for all areas of law with no obligations to instruct us.

Joe Egan Solicitors now has 6 Partners, 1 Consultant Solicitor, 5 Assistant Solicitors and several support staff who are currently studying to be Legal Executives. It is a recognised practice for the training of solicitors who are undergoing a 2-year training programme prior to their formal admission as solicitors and we currently have 2 Trainee Solicitors.

Among the staff and partners there are members of Law Society Children Panel, several Crown Court Advocates, an accredited Mediator and two former presidents of Bolton Law Society.

The firm has a public funding contract for Family Law and also holds a Criminal Defence Service contract for Criminal Law.
